dssd has developed a bunch of 3D virtual construction software tools:
These allows manufacturers to build their prototypes and test them. The neat feature is that real hardware and existing software can interact with the prototype to test functionality and identify issues arising during design. The system had already been used successfully in the automotive industry in Germany and is now available for other manufacturers worldwide. The system can be viewed using browsers or a VR Helmet and gloves for the deluxe version.
Automotive example

For example, you can design and build a new automatic gear box in a virtual environment and test it out in a virtual version of an existing vehicle for which there is already a 3D virtual model.
Alternatively, you could have a real, physical gear box and you could test how the components might interact and look in a 3D virtual car model.
A particular strength in the increasingly computerised vehicle is that you can also test run software to control components in a new design on a virtual 3D model before, during and after the production of the real thing.
Fields of use
The Dione software can be adapted to any manufacturing process, from the construction of white goods to Space probes!

The core
Our products are based mainly on a proprietary 3D-Scenegraph named Cassini.
Cassini is named after the NASA spaceprobe, which is orbiting Saturn to explore it's rings and moons. The complex CAD model of that spaceprobe was also the first demo model for the scenegraph.
The Moons of Saturn name our software tools.
System requirements
Our products just require todays standard pc configuration. The only critical part for large 3D-models is the GPU. You should consider latest GPU technology with large memory for best results.
We highly recommend using 64-bit Operating systems for large scale simulations!
Supported Operating Systems:
- Windows XP or newer
- 32 bit
